Overview
We offer two types of dumpsters: heavy material dumpsters for concrete, dirt, brick, and asphalt, and general debris dumpsters for materials like wood, metal, drywall, and tile. Each dumpster type and size has its own weight limits and potential overweight fees. Please review the details below to understand what option for your project.
Heavy Material Dumpsters
No Weight Restrictions
Heavy material dumpsters (for concrete, dirt, brick, and asphalt) have no weight limits. However, if heavy materials are mixed with general debris, the load will lose the same weight limits as a general debris dumpster.
An exception applies when special recycling requirements are involved (for example, if a specific recycling facility must be used). Please see Fees & Additional Charges for more details.
Prohibited Materials
Only concrete, dirt, brick, and asphalt are allowed in heavy material dumpsters. No other materials are permitted.
Fees & Additional Charges (Heavy Material Dumpsters)
- Cleaning Fee: A $300 cleaning fee applies if any material other than concrete, dirt, brick, or asphalt is found in a heavy material dumpster.
- General Debris Reclassification: If garbage/general debris makes up more than 5% of the load, it will be classified as general debris. This includes 1 ton of disposal fees, with each additional ton charged at $150.
- Special Recycling Requirements: Some recycling centers may require special weighing (e.g., a heavy truck certificate for dirt). In such cases, additional fees may apply. Our listed price includes up to 5 tons for the 10-yard dumpster and 2.5 tons for the 5-yard dumpster. Any weight beyond this limit will be charged at $95 per ton in San Jose, CA (rates may vary by city). For reference, a 10-yard load of brick and concrete mix typically weighs 10-12 tons.
General Debris Dumpsters
Weight Allowance by Size
Applies only to dumpsters for general debris. Dumpsters for heavy materials like concrete have no weight limits, except when a weight receipt is required for a specific recycling center per the client's request.

Prohibited Materials
- Hazardous Waste: Paint, stains, varnish, pesticides, chemicals, asbestos, batteries, medical waste
- Flammable Materials: Gasoline, diesel, oil, propane tanks, aerosol cans, fireworks, explosives
- Electronics & Appliances: TVs, computers, monitors, refrigerators, air conditioners, microwaves (only allowed in San Jose)
- Special Items: Large tree stumps, asbestos, railroad ties

Fees & Additional Charges
Electronics & Appliances Fees: Electronics & appliances are only allowed in San Jose. Disposal fee: $75 per item (e.g., refrigerators, computers).
- Special Items Fees: Tires: $25 each, Sofas/Mattresses/Box Springs: $25 each
- Special Recycling Request: For clients requesting delivery to a specific recycling center, a fixed trucking fee—based on distance, will be charged. All disposal fees at the recycling facility are the client's responsibility.
- Appliance & Electronics Disposal Fees: Appliances, electronics, and large items incur additional charges as required by recycling centers. Please see the disposal fee table below for details.

Other Charges
- Same-Day Emergency Service: A $100 fee applies for same-day emergency pickup or delivery (excluding San Jose and Campbell)
- Dead Run: If our truck arrives but cannot complete a drop-off or pickup due to space or access issues, a $250 dead-run fee will be charged. For locations north of Millbrae or Oakland, the fee is $350.
Drop-off, Pickup & Rental Terms
- Drop-off: Clients must secure space for the dumpster, including any required permits.
- Pickup: Once confirmed ready, pickup occurs within 1-3 days.
- Rental Period: Includes up to 7 days. Additional days are $45 per extra day.
- Surface Protection: The client is responsible for protecting the ground or driveway where the dumpster will be placed.
- Same-day delivery depends on availability at the time of request.
Cancellation Policy
- 24 hour advance notice is required for cancellations
- $100 fee for cancellations within 24 hours of delivery
